Ever since I started doing yoga it has been a big part of my life. It started as my main form of exercise when I fell in love with the classes at my gym. I wanted to get in shape and thought that yoga was the way to go. After my favorite teacher from the gym left, I started taking classes
at a yoga studio. The practice started to become more than just a workout as sanskrit words
started trickling into the class vocabulary. I realized that there was an entire wealth of
knowledge in terms of what yoga is and that I had only begun to scratch the surface.
After years of practicing at different studios and experimenting with different styles of yoga I
finally landed in my first Iyengar Yoga class at Cathy’s studio. There was a depth and detail to
the practice which I hadn’t found anywhere else. I found new excitement for learning that kept
me grounded in a daily practice.
Flash forward 8 years later and I have seen the amazing power of the yoga teachings. Yoga has taken me from fitness, to healing, to traveling, and to an inner awareness. Everyday is a day to
learn something new. “Go beyond the limitations of your mind.”- B.K.S. Iyengar
